ABOUT US

Gateway Health is a community health service providing health and welfare services to individuals, families and communities across north east Victoria and parts of southern New south Wales. The organisation employs over 380 staff providing a range of primary health and community services across the Ovens Murray region in North East Victoria and parts of Southern New South Wales. Gateway Health serves all people, and is committed to improving individual and population health outcomes. We do this by providing health care and support to individuals and communities in times of need, and by actively working with our partners to address the social and environmental determinants of health.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Leading up to 10 client-focussed domestic and family violence specialist clinicians, you’ll be performing all the people leader fundamentals – managing the day to day, monitoring the workload of the team and taking and managing escalations from our clients as these arise. You’ll also work closely with your team on their career development, provide line management supervision, support their wellbeing, and manage any performance issues whilst you lead by example.

Within the Domestic and Family Violence Team you will look after the following direct reports:

  • Family Violence Counsellors
  • Family Violence Case Managers
  • Men’s Behaviour Change Case Managers
  • Men’s Behaviour Change Counsellors

You’ll be working closely with the Senior Clinician and the Program Manager Domestic and Family Violence, joining a broader leadership team who are supportive, inclusive and encouraging, who love sharing their ideas and working collaboratively. If you’re ready to bring your skills and expertise, trial new ways of working and having the autonomy in which to do so, this could be the perfect time for you to join the Domestic and Family Violence team.

ABOUT YOU

You are passionate about making a difference! As a positive and energetic person you want to contribute and generate new ideas. You want to be part of a fun and dynamic environment, so teamwork is something you love.

Ultimately, we want an effective, ethical, and compassionate leader, someone with proven experience who leads by example, has the courage necessary for difficult conversations, and enjoys bringing out the best in their team. In this hands-on role, we are looking for an individual who always has people and clients at front of mind and is capable of keeping calm under pressure, or when escalations arise.

You are proactive, flexible and enjoy working collaboratively with other people to share insights and experiences. You enjoy bringing out the best in those you work with and driving change to create an environment where people feel comfortable to be themselves and truly exceed in their roles. With your excellent people management and relationship building skills, high level of communication and problem-solving skills, you know you have what it takes to really shape and make this position your own.
