About the recruitment team:

The Recruitment Unit provide a range of activities within a centralised recruitment model designed to support our hiring managers, to recruit a wide range of clinical and non-clinical health professionals across our District in accordance with legislation, Ministry of Health, and local health district policies.

Hunter New England Health (HNE Health) provides a range of public health services to the Hunter, New England, and Lower Mid North Coast regions. About the opportunity:

We have a permanent opportunity for a Recruitment Officer to join our amazing recruitment unit, enhancing our diversity and inclusiveness within our team culture.  You’ll be based at our campus at Waratah – Awabakal Country and play an integral role in the recruitment of positions located across many Aboriginal nations in HNE by supporting hiring managers and staff to meet expectations and compliance requirements. An understanding of recruitment and onboarding will be very helpful – but if you’re organised and a fast learner, and have a keen eye with attention to detail being your super strength you’ll fit right in!

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Verifying candidate data, submitting recommendation reports, processing employment checks, creating letters of offer, reporting, auditing, and other related tasks.
  • You will collaborate closely with team members who are responsible for the advertising and attraction of staff, to ensure the seamless delivery of recruitment services to our hiring managers, both clinical and non-clinical.

About You:

You are a savvy, quick thinker who enjoys a fast paced and dynamic environment. No two days will be the same and if multi-tasking is your thing, you’ll be perfect!

  • You’re a great communicator – a people person who can quickly build rapport with others
  • You are dedicated, driven and have high attention to detail
  • You have experience interpreting multiple Awards and Policies to ensure compliance in the recruitment process
  • Your background might be working in recruitment agencies, internal recruitment, in the talent acquisition space, or even in a busy, high level admin role
  • You thrive in a high volume working environment and managing conflicting priorities is your strength!
  • You enjoy learning new things and are open to suggesting new ideas and process improvements

Successful applicants who are new to NSW Health, or existing employees being appointed to these grades for the first time, will commence at the relevant Year 1 salary rate. Increment to a year 2 would occur after completing an amount equivalent to 12 months full time service.
