ABOUT THE ROLE

The Registered Nurse (RN) contributes to the life of the Therapy Community (TC) by providing the individual health assessment of residents and provision of clinical nursing services. There is a focus on medication safety and management along with an active role in the pre-admissions process, screening and review. The role will also support ongoing case management of residents in partnership with the Residential Therapy Team and General Practitioner (GP).

The key purpose of the positions is to support clients in accessing residential treatment and to establish healthier lifestyles free of problematic alcohol and drug use. The TC is a long-term residential program with up to 30 treatment beds that works with clients to establish healthier relationships, promote personal change and support them in their recovery journey.

You will have:

  • Knowledge of current alcohol and other drug interventions
  • Capacity to deal objectively and professionally with complex clients and related issues
  • Significant experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Current and ongoing registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
  • Commitment to the philosophy of a person-centred approach to providing care and services.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
