Full Time position
$33 ph +11.5% superannuation + excellent salary packing and other tax benefits
This is an Identified Aboriginal position. Only applicants with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island heritage will be considered.

Albury Wodonga Aboriginal Health Service (AWAHS) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation. AWAHS provides first class Primary Health Care Services to the Aboriginal community who reside in Albury / Wodonga and surrounding areas.

Join us in our mission to create healthier futures together – we are seeking a Health Promotion Worker to assist in developing and implementing culturally sensitive health promotion initiatives to respond to identified needs and help empower individuals and communities to take control of their health journeys.

As the Health Promotion Worker, you will:

Play an important part in Community Development and Health Promotion
Identify local health promotion priorities and bring together programs and services to promote better health.
Participate in, promote, and develop community education, awareness and prevention programs that enhance the community’s understanding of health issues.
Raise awareness of Aboriginal Health issues and advocate for best practice approaches
Work collaboratively with other service providers to develop and implement cultural understanding within health staff’s work practices.

What you will bring to the role:

Your special insights, experience and knowledge of current health issues and population health theory & practice relevant to Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander communities
Expertise and creativity in developing impactful social media campaigns.
Current & relevant cultural and health knowledge to share and educate. Established links with community
Passion to reduce health disparities and enhance the overall wellbeing of the local Aboriginal community.
