ABOUT THE ROLE

You will be working with a highly respected AOD program that has helped thousands of people overcome their alcohol and other drug use to lead healthy, productive, and rewarding lives. Using an evidence-informed approach and client-centred services to help people achieve their full potential and rebuild their lives. 

This role will primarily provide assessment, information and support to people undertaking withdrawal at home, as well as providing referral and support to inpatient withdrawal options such as local hospitals or, where indicated, specialist units in Melbourne or other centres. The Withdrawal Nurse also provides information to family members and other carers to support the client’s safe and effective withdrawal. This role will also provide support to our pharmacotherapy program as required. This role will work closely with other staff in the AOD team to provide a flexible, responsive service to achieve the best possible outcomes for clients.

The Withdrawal Nurse will ensure their discipline provides best practice, evidence-based care and meeting quality and risk standards.

ABOUT YOU

You are a confident and capable Nurse (EN or RN), with experience working with AOD patients in previous roles (desirable), with sound knowledge of problematic alcohol and other drug use. You have strong clinical nursing and assessment skills with a patient focused goal-oriented approach to service provision. For this role you will need:

  • Current AHPRA registration
  • Current Victorian Drivers licence
  • Demonstrated experience working in nursing roles, within the AOD industry highly advantageous.
  • You love learning new skills, are curious, and enjoy working in an environment where no two days are alike!

REMUNERATION

Nurses and Midwives (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2020-2024

Classification Enrolled Nurse Level 2 – 2.1-2.7 dependent on experience

Registered Nurse – Community Health Nurse (CN5)
