Full time – 38 hours per week

Role purpose
As part of a multi-disciplinary team the Aboriginal Family Violence Practitioner will primarily be responsible for short term case management
support for those who choose to use violence and will work closely with the Family Violence Team to deliver culturally safe, timely, and
flexible responses using an Aboriginal Family Violence Integrated response. Where appropriate provide secondary consultations to internal
and external stakeholders to proactively build cultural safety and competence.
The purpose of this role is to reduce violence and enhance safety through supporting those who choose to use violence to be responsible
and accountable for their violent behaviours, contribute to a “safe at home approach” (where appropriate) and to assist in engagement with
programs aimed to stop family violence and address the complex effects of violence and abuse (including Behaviour Change). Rumbalara is
funded to provide these services and funding is subject to the delivery of specified targets in performance measures.

What you need to apply?
• Tertiary qualification in social work, welfare, community development or related field, is preferred. However, applicants with significant
experience in a similar role, currently studying and/or are willing to further study for a Tertiary Degree are strongly encouraged to apply.
• Have Strong knowledge of Aboriginal culture, and self-determination
• Work collaboratively to drive cultural change
• Evidence of your Covid-19 Vaccination Status
• Current Working with Children’s Check and a satisfactory police check
• Driver’s license, without restriction
