About the role:

We have an exciting opportunity for an Aboriginal Health Worker to join our team at Tamworth Hospital! Your role will be to work within our palliative care unit and intensive care unit where you will provide health services to patients who are critically unwell or approaching end of life, in order to assist them in achieving better quality of life. You will also provide support to people in the community who are being cared for by the palliative care team.

You will work alongside patients and families and assist to provide culturally sensitive care, advocate for this to occur and increase understanding and access for families of our health systems so that we can provide the best care possible to community when they need us most.

Tamworth Hospital is a major referral hospital located in the northern region of the Hunter New England Local Health District. Our 288-bed facility includes Intensive Care, rehabilitation services, a Brain Injury Unit, Diabetes Centre and high dependency unit.
