First Nations Heart Health, Project Officer

About the Heart Foundation

The Heart Foundation is Australia’s leading heart health charity, committed to helping Australians lead healthier lifestyles and encouraging those most at risk to take better care of their heart health.

This newly created role will significantly contribute to the development and implementation of our First Nations Heart Health programs and projects. We invite you to join us on this important journey to provide operational and administrative support and improve heart health outcomes for First Nations peoples. 

This role can be worked either full-time, or part-time. We offer flexibility, including hybrid working arrangements.

What you will bring to the role

  • Knowledge or experience in project delivery, community development or health-related fields
  • Understanding of the issues, enablers and barriers relating to First Nations Health, and/or experience working to address equity and promote self-determination for First Nations communities.
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience of working directly with First Nations communities with appropriate cultural competence and sensitivity
  • Organisational skills with an ability to manage and prioritise work tasks and use a range of computer applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to engage with a diverse range of people.
