We have a great opportunity for dedicated and experienced individual to join our Australian Nurse Family Partnership Program as a Midwife. We aim to improve the physical, mental, spiritual, cultural and social wellbeing of our clients through innovative comprehensive programs based on principles of equity, access, empowerment, determination and collaboration.About the roleThe Registered Midwife will contribute to the quality and delivery of primary health care within the Danila Dilba Health Service Mothers and Babies Clinic, by providing high quality, comprehensive and culturally appropriate midwifery care to patient with the aim of improving maternal and birth outcomes.• You’ll IMPACT the community, helping close the gap in Indigenous healthcare and wellbeing, onehelping hand at a time.• You’ll be PROUD, both of the work you do and who you work for.• You’ll work with a TEAM, alongside people who are down to earth and truly dedicated to what wedo.• You’ll EXPERIENCE and learn something new every day through the variety of your role.• You’ll embrace the OPPORTUNITY to progress your career – follow your path at Danila Dilba.Responsibilities include:• Monitor progress of patients including identifying problems, so staff resources and care can bealtered appropriately.• Actively participate in the delivery of direct clinical care to mothers and babies.• Provide comprehensive culturally appropriate antenatal and postnatal clinical midwifery services topatients.• Provide maternity education, particularly antenatal education.• Provide a range of screening, treatment and education in relation to all aspects of women’s health;Are you the right person?The successful candidate will have:• Current registration as a Midwife with AHPRA;• A minimum of four years clinical experience together with high level skills in patient education;• Experience working in maternal and child health;• Demonstrated awareness of and sensitivity to Aboriginal culture and history and knowledge ofissues impacting on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples;• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team in a cross cultural and complex environment.
