We have highly qualified Clinical Nurse Educators and Clinical Nurse Unit Managers and Clinical Nurse Specialists who provide support to ensure our staff and our team are delivering the latest and highest clinical standards with a supportive robust education program. The Emergency Department supports a Transition to Emergency Nursing Program and individualised specialist training for each area of the department.

Where you’ll be working:

  • Our department cares for trauma, neurosurgical emergencies, neurology patients, including acute stroke, major orthopaedic, cardiology and cardiothoracic, and paediatrics including paediatric/adolescent Mental Health. Caring for over 85,000 presentations per annum, The JHH ED is one of the busiest mixed Adult/Paediatric Tertiary Referral Centres in Australia and the only Trauma Referral Centre in NSW outside Sydney.
  • As the largest teaching hospital within Hunter New England, John Hunter Hospital partners with local tertiary training organisations and hosts the HNE Simulation Centre.
