About the Role
Join the Youth Drug and Alcohol Clinical Services (YDACS) team, a vital part of the HNELHD Drug and Alcohol Clinical Services (DACS). YDACS provides comprehensive care to individuals aged 18 years and under with moderate to severe substance use issues. The team also offers consultation and training to clinicians working with young people.

This newly created rural position based in Tamworth will augment the existing YDACS team in Newcastle. The Rural YDACS Clinician will deliver clinical services locally, supported virtually by our multidisciplinary team in Newcastle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide evidence-based clinical care to young people with complex substance use issues.
  • Collaborate closely with local stakeholders and community services.
  • Participate in virtual meetings and regular clinical supervision sessions.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of training and education programs.

Requirements: 

  • Must hold a degree in Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, or Occupational Therapy which provides eligibility or membership of the relevant professional association/full registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
    Clinical Psychologist applicants: Completion of an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council accredited postgraduate clinical psychology qualification of no less than two years full-time duration or recognised equivalent, displayed on the Psychology Board of Australia website. Generally registered as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia with an area of practice endorsement in clinical psychology.
    Clinical Psychologist in Training applicants: Holds hold a four-year degree in Psychology, being a three-year degree with a fourth-year honours in Psychology, or a qualification deemed equivalent by the employer. Must be completing an approved post-graduate qualification and hold at least provisional registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
  • Eligible to drive in NSW and the ability and willingness to travel for work purposes which may involve driving long distances.
